MicroFab develops and commercializes high-payoff applications for microdispensing and precision printing using ink-jet technology. The capabilities of ink-jet microdispensing are applicable to a wide range of industries and applications. Examples include microdispensing of liquid solder; adhesives; optical and electrical polymers; and biomedical materials, including diagnostic reagents, proteins, and DNA. The speed, precision, and digital nature of ink-jet printing technology makes it well suited for automated control in the manufacturing plant or research laboratory.
MicroFab, founded in 1984, has been a pioneer in developing manufacturing technologies and instrumentation based on piezoelectric ink-jet dispensing. These efforts have lead to 42 issued patents assigned to MicroFab, and we have authored 27 for our customers.
MicroFab offers our customers solutions to their microdispensing requirements by offering a combination of consulting services, application development services, job-shop services, and equipment sales. Underlying the equipment and services we offer to our customers is our ongoing in-house research efforts on novel applications of ink-jet technology.
Why Choose MicroFab?
The MicroFab team has been active in ink jet research and development for over 25 years. MicroFab is staffed by professionals with advanced degrees in material science, fluid dynamics, and business; and with expertise in computer modeling for all aspects of the ink jet process. MicroFab is dedicated to making your deposition process a success, and we will be here to support you as your process moves from concept to the production line.
MicroFab has successfully demonstrated ink jet printing with over 500 fluids from customers that vary from large to small. The fluids range from gases at cryogenic temperatures to solder at over 300°C. We have developed a broad product line of ink jet platforms and subsystems which are used in house by MicroFab personnel to develop these processes. No other ink jet company in the world has the wide ranging experience that you will find at MicroFab.
We thoroughly understand the challenges on the process development path. At MicroFab, your technical staff can work ‘hands-on’ in the laboratory with our staff to evaluate feasibility and explore options before making a capital equipment decision. All of our components, subsystems, and platforms can be configured to match your needs - rather than modifying your goals to match equipment used in other industries.
There are no shortcuts to a successful development, but experience, knowledge and outstanding customer support (see Testimonials) can help steer around the pitfalls. Make the right choice.
